Criminal damage is legal now

....when you hate the Jews -

"Police have admitted wrongly ordering the removal of a banner calling for a boycott of Tesco from a Blackburn building. Blackburn with Darwen Council staff took the banner down from the side of the derelict Duke of Edinburgh pub, in Crabtree Street, yesterday morning at the request of a police officer. Campaigners who organised a peaceful protest outside the store at the weekend have called for a full apology from both parties. They are campaigning against firms who sell Israeli goods because of the conflict in Gaza."

....and when it's by Banksy -

"A Banksy mural targeting the issue of government surveillance has been vandalised with silver and red spray paint....Gloucestershire police appealed for anyone with information about the graffiti to contact them. DI Angela Middlewood said: 'We have received a report regarding the Banksy artwork in Cheltenham. Officers are at the scene and enquiries are being carried out. I would like to take this opportunity to ask anyone who was in the area last night or in the early hours of this morning and saw something out of the ordinary, to contact us on 101.'"

Thanks to Julia for that first link. Wonder what would happen if I hung an EDL banner outside the block of flats where I live - in greenest Brighton - or sprayed "UKIP" on the steps of the town hall? Yup, nicked in no time.
